The Aberdeen Area Humane Society provides shelter, medical care and new homes to nearly 400 dogs, cats and other critters each year. That currently happens in building that was moved to the AAHS property decades ago and which has been added onto and repaired throughout that time. The setup worked for a while, but the time has come for providing proper housing and healthier living conditions.

The AAHS is raising funds for a new shelter to be built on its property, and in March 2020, the AACF awarded $5,000 to support the project.
