The Aberdeen Area Community Foundation made a $5,000 grant to the Malchow Plaza project of the Aberdeen Development Corporation. The Plaza is part of the new building the ADC will construct at 5th Avenue and Main Street, the former site of Malchow’s, which burned down in 2019. The building will house the ADC as well as other community-oriented organizations and a retail shop.
The AACF grant will be used for the outdoor plaza area of the new development. The plaza is an open, public space that can be used for community events as well as to support opportunities for art, culture, music and entertainment offerings in Aberdeen’s downtown.
