Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national organization dedicated to providing beds to children in homes that cannot afford to provide them. A local group of volunteers has undertaken to create an Aberdeen area chapter of the program to build and deliver beds to families.
The Aberdeen Area Community Foundation made a $1,000 grant to support the group in purchasing tools and supplies needed to establish the chapter. The local group estimates there may be 500 families needing beds in the area and has already delivered several beds to local children.
