The Knight Aberdeen Fund of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and its Aberdeen partner, the Aberdeen Area Community Foundation, are pleased to announce a $75,000 challenge grant awarded to Aberdeen Community Theatre. The grant is meant to match fundraising by ACT to support needed capital improvements to its home, the Capitol Theater in downtown Aberdeen.
Aberdeen is a Knight Community, a program through which the Knight Foundation supports cities in which Knight-Ridder newspapers used to operate. AACF works with Knight Foundation to identify local projects that meet its priorities for the community. The Knight Aberdeen Fund is held at the South Dakota Community Foundation.
