In fall 2024, the AACF hosted a contest for visitors to its Facebook page to vote on their favorite of six recent recipients of AACF grants. The winner would receive an additional grant. The contest also included a random drawing of one voter who selected a local nonprofit to receive a grant. In this case, the Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area was a double winner.

The Boys & Girls Club won the social media contest for receiving the most votes by quite a margin. The announcement was made at during the October 28 Happy Generosity Hour, a local event to raise awareness of area nonprofit organizations, which was supported by many businesses and organizations, including AACF. In the photo, AACF board member Bea Smith presented the ceremonial $500 grant check to Boys & Girls Club program director Megan Reshetar.
