In late May 2020, the Aberdeen Area Community Foundation made a grant of $2,000 to the Northeast South Dakota Community Action Program (NESDCAP) dba GROW South Dakota to support its efforts to provide emergency financial assistance, such as for rent and utilities assistance, to low-income families in Brown County impacted by COVID-19.
NESDCAP is a Community Action Agency serving 17 counties in northeastern South Dakota. Demand for emergency assistance increased substantially as a result of the effects of the pandemic.
